Obesity

Obesity is a very common health issue which is prevalent for years in our society . Despite of knowing and practicing  the measures to prevent it, the number of obese people is increasing day by day.

I agree that people have realized its ill - effects and are working upon it but still , it remains a major cause of concern as now its the children aged between 5-14 yrs who are affected the most .

After reading the above article , you can imagine how this issue is becoming worse and affecting the young generation. Why is it that obesity is becoming a common problem among kids? Why are they so inactive and lack stamina at such an early age ? The answer to these questions lies in  the lifestyles they are following nowadays...

Children are much more into eating junk food like pizza, burger, noodles, etc instead of eating home - made food and is spending more time on indoor activities such as playing online games , watching television, etc, rather than doing physical activities like playing outdoor games, exercising, etc. I won't say that children are to be blamed alone as firstly its the responsibility of the parents to inculcate good food habits in their kids and to make them understand the importance of balanced diet. But, because of the prevalent busy lifestyles parents fail to do so the outcome of which is increasing no. of obese kids in society.

Still, there are certain things which can be done to fight obesity and improve the condition of our young generation . Like, the education system must come forward and encourage kids to participate in sports and promote outdoor activities . Parents should take some time out from their busy schedules and get involved in outdoor activities with their kids. And societies should ensure allotment of a playground for children so that they don't have to look around for space to play.

I think if such simple things are taken into consideration and are done properly then, hopefully obesity won't remain an issue among children any longer ...
